Hellooo lovelies!

Wow, I sure have been a bad blogger this year. In my defence, the year has flown by! And I have been posting... just on my newly launched research blog! Check it out if you're interested in the more science-y stuff. :)

Since there's so much that has already happened this year, I thought I would do a round-up of my favourite looks from the first half of the year. I've also been getting more and more into makeup this year, so I will make a separate post about my fave makeup looks!

One of the best experiences this year was my trip to Amsterdam in February. I went to see one of my favourite K-pop groups, ATEEZ, in concert. I had such an amazing time in Amsterdam; if you want to hear more about the trip, you can check out this YouTube video where I talk about it!

I wore a black lace dress* from Rosegal (see my previous post for the details), and styled it with Snag Tights and a statement belt. I felt so cute, definitely one of the best nights ever!

My second favourite is this look I wore in April, when my husband and I went on a double date with a couple we're friends with. We went to see a stand-up comedy show, followed by a dinner and some drinks. I loved the fact that this look was one of my faves, because all the items it consists of are things I hadn't worn in literally years! I think I bought the peplum top in 2016, the skirt is part of an old Forever21 set, and the white shirt from Evans was also purchased several years back. It was so much fun to rediscover this look! Overall, I have been buying a lot less clothes this year, so I've really been on a kick of shopping my wardrobe and styling old items in new ways.

On May Day Eve, I went to this local club that hosted a K-pop event with my friends. It was such a fun night, although I must confess I may have had one too many drinks, haha. Anyway, I really loved this edgy look consisting of a harness (from SHEIN), a white shirt and a black mini skirt.

In case you've been living under a rock, you probably noticed that Eurovision was a big deal in Finland this year! While the ultimate prize went to Sweden, we had an amazing party and I really loved the outfit I wore. My friends and I all wore some combination of green and pink to go with the colours in Finland's performance, and I chose to go for this pink princess dress, paired with some green jewellery and makeup. Definitely another night to remember!

Another fave from May was this black dress I wore to a dinner and drinks with a friend. This is from Boohoo, and although I've had it for a couple of years, they seem to have this style in stock quite often, so it's always worth checking out! For example, here is a similar dress.*

This gorgeous red number from PLT * looks like a two piece, but it's actually a dress! Another dress I've had for a while but haven't had a chance to wear. I feel like I've been a lot more adventurous with fashion this year, since my mental health has been better and I've actually had the energy to get inspired about clothes again. I also feel better about my body, so rocking a look that shows a bit of skin outside the house is no problem to me now!

This pink sequin dress* was one of my most complimented looks EVER. It's from ASOS and I wore it to a local Pride party. Sooo many people stopped to compliment me during the night, which always feels amazing! This dress is really nice quality and I look forward to rocking it again in the near future.

Finally, this was my look to my cousin's wedding at midsummer. This Dresslily dress was one of my favourites last year, and I still love it. It's so cute and romantic! I paired it with a thrifted cardigan, some old Primark shoes and a silver clutch I've literally had for about ten years now.

So, those are my favourite outfits of 2023 so far! Which one is your favourite? Stay tuned for my post about my favourite makeup looks, and also check out the videos you may have missed on my YouTube channel.

Hope you are all having a great year so far!
